The chipset that came with the iPad Air 4 was the A14 Bionic. (This was upgraded from the A12 Bionic in the previous generation). While the iPad Air 5 came with the M1 powering it. With this upgrade, you should expect stronger and faster performance. Also, while the new iPad Air 5 came with the latest iPadOS 15, the previous version came with the iPadOS 14.
